Shanghai Dreamers

Its great to see that House of Dior has once again collaborate with Tianjin born artist Quentin Shih in a series of image for Dior’s new flagship store in Shanghai, after their last team up back in 2008. The series unveiled as ‘Shanghai Dreamers’ pictures a western model in full Dior’s glory, painted among a mass crowd of Chinese clones in a surreal, almost morbid lollipop-style photography. The visuals have since attract an unhealthy string of controversial surrounding the racism of Quentin’s idea itself, but it’s undoubtedly a feast for the eye and a kick at the groin for many aspiring artist his caliber.

Patience

I consider myself as someone who has great patience. Who rarely scream at check out counters when the service are slow, or give evil eyes to the waitress for taking the wrong order or tearing my hair apart at the toll booth after a super long queue. But this dude at connecticut defies it all. Dalton Ghetti has the most boring hobby in the universe. Working as a carpenter by profession, he hand-craves pencils lead into teeny tiny sculptures, just for the fun of it. And he does it all without the help of a magnifying glass!! PURE WACKO!

Amazing right!

Amazeball

Recovering sunday doesn't gets any better than being transfix into the visual wonders of Quayola, where art and space collide and mutate into transitory objects, allowing the real and the artificial to coexist. Yes, i copied those exact words from his website, but nonetheless, i am amaze.

The Strata project consist in a series of films, prints and installations investigating improbable relationships between contemporary digital aesthetics and icons of classical art and architecture. Like in geological processes, layers belonging to different ages interact with one another producing new intriguing formations.

The terms Strata defines a geological formation made of multiple layers of rocks. Each one of these layers has its own individual characteristics and history, which combined produce beautiful and unique formations...

A Single Man

I know its very obsolete of me to be saying this, but i actually just finished 'a single man' by tom ford, after a long while of it being release into the theatre. And i lurve it. Absolutely lurve it!

You see, i've always been a loyal audience to colin firth ever since he came out of the lake all soaking wet in pride and prejudice, but the last hour or so spent watching the movie was everything i ever needed to fall back in love with him again. Gawd. I don't think people are engineered in that fine manner anymore. If only i was in england, with a couple more years on my shoulder, blonde and with legs up to the neck, i would snatch him in a heartbeat.

But alas, i'm am not and will never be that bitch. Haha. And i'm also not here to tell you about the story of 'a single man', for you need to see it yourself to truly admire the beauty of it. Besides, i believe there's far too many reviews done on it that simply might have ruined the magic tom ford has installed for us. I wouldn't want to add salt to the wound. I'm merely here to remind you to ogle at that fine specimen of the man himself, colin firth, in his finest moment.

Boner Alert!

This is what i've gathered from this rather peculiar set of fashion spread a friend of mine, leia, shown me a couple of months back. The photographer is either nekkid at the time of event, or simply these are all very good looking monks that has lead solitary lives, abstaining from any form of sexual contact for a remarkably long period of time. Cause clearly, they look like they're in pain and seek some sort of release from their sorrows. Somebody please help them. I'm developing a hernia just looking at it.

These were grab from the net sometime ago, thus i'm not able to give reference to where i've gotten hold of them. I promise though i'll do better in the future, for i'll most certainly give credit where credit is due. Scout honour dictates so. And you know me and my fondness for those damn scout boys :P

26th June 2010

Warning. You're about to read the epic life story of a twenty something, caught in a whirlpool of mindless bitching, constant mood swing and the occasional meltdown, with the usual tequila shot thrown into it all. Consider yourself warned.

So, there i was at the capital city of complaint, or formally known as Singapore, last weekend with a pocketful of currency, which i went and blew it on some nonsensical pair of navy blue dockers from topman, some twilight green headphones at bugis, mositurizers and the rest on cab fares. Mrt is just too complicated in my opinion. The whole route map itself is like a crash course in bomb diffusing, the ticketing machine doesn't eat notes for some weird reason and those damn escalators are like on speed or something. A killing machine if you ask me. Confirmed lawsuit.

Then
Hermès and Massino D, was closed post flash flood, which was a pity cause i was hoping to get some mud stained trousers, or disintegrated shirts out of it. Nowadays, i'm all for not letting ruined couture goes to waste, and i'm sure dressing up in the tone of a homeless can be quite enticing. Wouldn't you agree?

19th June 2010

Right at this moment, on the bus heading towards singapore for the weekend, i've decided, over the reruns of 'Bridget Jones, the Diary of a Legendary Spinster', to start an online diary of my own, depicting my amazingly boring life as i slowly ease into the big three o. I'm Wanna *obviously not my real name for i'm no manners like that*, aged 29++, a post junkie of the boom boom room fame, who never fails to break his yearly resolution of quitting his day job in tv commercial and be done with the fake fake world of advertising. Weight roughly between a sack of rice and a gunny of potatoes, i'm a non-smoker with a weak heart for everything sparkly. An alcoholic by choice, and single by fate, i've had two previous relationship that totally screwed up my whole constitution on loyalty, and that fine line that pushes it to infidelity. My one aim in life right now is to get thru this father's day weekend, avoiding the starry eyes of Molly the Mole, my sister's mother-in-law, and her verbal pyrotechnic concerning my marital preference and how pitiful it must be to be single, almost thirty and still staying with his parents. The last thing i need right now is to feel like i'm at the receiving end of a firing squad.

And just for the record, i'm a rainbow loving guy, who has every plan of marrying shia labeouf if not josh duhamel for i'm not choosy AT ALL, who really hates monopoly, and who most possibly owns the hairiest pair of legs in the whole of kuala lumpur. xoxo
