The things we do...

Thinking of working in film production? Think again. And then rethink it again. Coz' girlfriend, it ain't all glamourous and glittery as how its been package to be. Think of it as working at the bottom of the food chain. It kinda sucks. All the crap you need to do just to get the effing shoot going. I mean seriously, you have no idea what an incredible huge load of shit we put up with on a daily basis. I remember a few years back, when we were shooting in an abandon factory somewhere off the state, it was around two in the morning and my godforsaken producer asked me and my amigos to go buy supper for the crew and cast. There were about hundred of us on set and he gave me a hundred bucks and expect to have a full meal with drinks! Like hello? Which century were he from? And where the hell did he expect us to get supper when we're not even sure where we were exactly. But when push comes to shove, you got to do what you have to do. And that's how production works. You don't give excuses. You just find solutions. Shamelessly, i end up bargaining with the mamak fellas at three in the morning to give us a hundred pack of nasi lemak with no eggs and no cucumber and a hundred pack of the smallest teh tarik ever for a hundred bucks! And if that's not tragic enough, there was these other time when we were shooting a fast food ad in a big BIG bungalow downtown where believe it or not, one of those freaking clients have the guts to sit on a white designer chair and effing leave a period stain on it! Guess who have to drag the whole chair to the bathroom and clean it? Yours truly! Why? Well, the team were mainly guy, so basically the gayest one have to do the shit la. Ish! That put me off girls for a week or two, but it had to be done. Either that or we'll be thrown off the streets with an unfinished commercial. And don't get me started on the time we had to hunt for a hair talent at four in the morning on some stupid last minute request from the diesel dyke so-called producer on the job!

I would say you'll be better off brewing up coffee at starbucks than putting yourself up for film production. Its just not worth it.

I guess looking at the pay cheque you got after the shoot, everything is just paid off.
